When next weekend orienteers are still competing Finnish Champion in the special long-distance orienteering competitions in Orivesi, snow is already expected in the Kuusamo and Posio area.
The gaze is already tightly focused on the Fin5-Orienteering Week in Posio and Kuusamo on July 11-16, 2021.
-The summer season is now over. The next competitive event and milestone in KEV’s orienteering department will be ski-orienteering competitions in the Petäjälampi terrain in Kuusamo 1-3.1.21
– After that the gaze will be even more detailed at the big event of the coming summer, says Seppo Linjakumpu, a handyman at KEV’s orienteering department and Secretary General of Fin5 2021 Orienteering Week.
For the Fin5 2021 Orienteering week, checkpoints have been prepared during the autumn and maps have also been updated, insofar as changes have taken place during the summer, for example in the form of thinning operations.
– The next meeting of the Organizing Committee will be in next week, where a situation survey will be held and the next steps will be taken. During the coming winter, the people in charge will prepare and each team will acquire, for example, sufficient helpers, Linjakumpu says about the joint project of Posion Pyrintö and Kuusamon Erä-Veikot.
