Terrains
Runability and visibility good. Traditional northeast forested hills. Great height differences on long distances. Days 3. -> 5. will be on totally new areas with no previous orienteering competitions.

Accommodation
There are several options for accommodation. Hotels, cottages and places for motorhomes.

Location
Event center will be at Ruka village. First two comptetitions will be at Posio (Kirintövaara ski center, 60 km from Ruka). Three remaining competitions will be at Kuusamo (Meskusvaara, 30 km from Ruka).
Transportation from Ruka Village to competition center and back 45 €/week (30€/child). Advance booking for transportation is mandatory until 31.5.2021! (kev@kev.fi)

Orienteering
Enjoyable orienteering is available throughout the week in typical fell terrain of northeastern Finland, which is open and easy to tread. The terrain makes it possible to plan courses of varying difficulty levels, from championship level to path orienteering.

A myriad of recreational activities are available in the surrounding area. There is something for everyone – old and young alike.

The Fin5 experience
In addition to the wide selection of activities offered by Kuusamo and Ruka, various events for orienteerers are available as well:
Monday, 12 July, 2021 – Family-friendly evening event at Rukankylä
Tuesday, 13 July, 2021 – Orienteerer’s day at Rukankylä
Friday, 16 July, 2021 – Orienteering Week will be brought to a close with the newly established celebratory dinner, which is served from 7 PM at Scandic Rukahovi.
